Agnes Grossman, 94, of Esmond, ND, died Saturday, March 24, 2012, at St. Aloisius Medical Center in Harvey.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 30th, 2012, 10:30 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Esmond with Fr. Brian Bachmeier, celebrant.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday at the church where there will be a 7:00 pm Rosary followed by a Vigil Service at 7:30 pm.  The Nelson Funeral Home of Maddock is in charge of the arrangements.  Casket bearers will be her grandsons:  Tim Axtman,  Tim Grossman,  Kevin Axtman,  Kenny Axtman,  Keenan Grossman,  Steve Axtman,  Donnie Grossman,  Karl Grossman,  Brad Grossman,  Kory Grossman and Lee Grossman;  honorary bearers will be her granddaughters:  Shirley Lewis,  Tammy Wentz,  Susy Wentz,  Rebecca Lessard,  Taylor Grossman,  Kathy Krosbakken,  Cindy Selzler,  Rania Stratteon,  Tina Smith,  Renae Genetzky and Kristin Grossman;  special friends:  Margaret Marthe and Katie Wolfe and the members of the St. Boniface Christian Confraternity of Christian Mothers.  Music will be from Chrissie Hager, soloist with Helen Arnold, organist.

Agnes was born March 2, 1918 near Fulda in McHenry County, ND, to Sylvester and Emilia (Burckhard) Wolf, the third of eighteen children.  She married Joseph Grossman on October 14, 1940 at St. Anselm Catholic Church in Fulda, ND.  The couple lived and farmed on his parents farm in Alexanter Township, west of Esmond. Joe passed away April 29, 1998.  Agnes worked at Ann's Café in Esmond and did house cleaning and painting for many years.

Agnes was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and Ladies Aid.  She enjoyed playing bingo, embroidery and cooking.

Surviving are her sons and daughter:  Marvin Grossman of Esmond and his family:  (Donnie & Denise,  Kathy & Dan,  Brad,  Cindy & Ken,  Karl & Chantel);   Vickie (Kenneth) Axtman of Esmond and their family:  (Steve & Janet,  Kenny & Deneen,  Tim, Kevin);    Ron Grossman of Esmond and his daughter: ( Rania);   Dan (Sharon) Grossman of Esmond and their family:  (Susy,  Shirley & Bryan,  Tammy & Ronnie,  Tim & Linda);  Gary Grossman of Bismarck and his family:  (Tina & Scott,  Kory & Shelly,  Renae & Kory,  Lee, Kristin);  Bryan Grossman of West Fargo and his family: (Rebecca & Jason,  Keenan,  Taylor);  22 grandchildren;  32 great-grandchildren;  2 great-great-grandchildren;  brothers:  Mike (Janice) Wolf of Salt Lake City, UT & Leo (Marlene) Wolf of Towner, ND;  sisters:  Bertha Kraft of San Francisco, CA,  Cecelia (Christ) Burgard of Towner, ND,  Marian Simonson of Plentywood, MT,  Lena Walters of Minot and Theresa Clark  in Wisconsin.

Preceded in death by:  parents;  husband, Joe;  daughter-in-law,  Ellen Grossman;  grandson, Terry Axtman;  great-grandchildren:  Ashton Genetsky,  Aleisha Alleyne Grossman,  Greyson Allen Lessard;  brothers:  Phillip, Joe,  infant Steven,  Melchior & Eugene Wolf;  sisters:  Betty Kvale,  Irene Jones,  Beatrice Wolf , Alice Wolf and an infant Theresa.
