Ardyce L. Ellingson, 80, of Maddock, ND passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at the SMP Health St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey, ND. Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at the North Viking Lutheran Church with Pastor Shirley Teske officiating.  Visitation will well be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM followed by 7:00 PM Prayer Service on Monday, July 28, 2025 at the North Viking Lutheran Church.  Burial will be at the Klara Lutheran Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Klara Lutheran Cemetery: 2765 44th Avenue NE Heimdal, ND 58341 or the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital/ALSAC: 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Ardyce L. Hvinden was born April 16, 1945 to Oscar "Toby" and Solveig (Sogge) Hvinden in Maddock.  She attended grade schools in Minnewaukan, Maddock and Hesper and graduated from BCATS in 1963.  Ardyce was united in marriage to Byron Ellingson on November 9, 1963 in Maddock and to this union welcomed five sons; Mark, Michael, Joel, Jonathan, and Christopher.

Ardyce worked as the bookkeeper for the Maddock Cable TV, in the kitchen at the Maddock Public School, and also volunteered at the Maddock Public School office later in her career.  But most important to her was being a mother and housewife.  Ardyce enjoyed many activities with her family and friends; including, flower and vegetable gardening, canning, playing cards, bowling, playing board games, cooking and baking, and anything that involved spending time with family and friends.  She was a member of the North Viking Lutheran Church where she served on the Church Board, WELCA, altar guild, quilter for outreach and missionary, and taught Sunday school.  Ardyce was very active in the Maddock Community, serving on the American Legion Auxiliary, 55 club, all-school reunion committee, on the centennial committee, a member of the Park Board, and member of the Maddock Community Club for over 38 years.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ardyce is survived by her husband of 62 years, Byron; sons, Michael (Kristin) of Eagan, MN, Joel (Monica) of West Fargo, ND, Jon (Kandy) of Heimdal, ND, Chris (Samantha) of Dilworth, MN, and daughter-in-law, Janet of Farmington, MN; grandchildren, Matthew (Sarah), Mitchell (Annamarie), Sarah, Dana (Cody), Heidi, Ryan (Taylor), Joseph, Bethany, Amber (Max), Thomas, Michael (Brittany), Hawkins, Mattie (Dre), Benjamin, Bella, and CeCe; great-grandchildren, Lucy, Violet, Clara, and Eli; siblings, Gerald of Thompson, ND, Larry (Ginny) of Bloomington, MN, Robert (JoAnn) of Mesa, AZ, Danny of Maddock, ND and David (Denise) of Mesa, AZ; sister-in-law, Nancy of Thompson, ND; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and all the other children that were a part of her life.

She was preceded in death by her son, Mark W. Ellingson; parents, Oscar and Solveig Hvinden; brothers, Marlan and Douglas; sister-in-law, Nancy; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
