Arlene D. Triebold, 88, of Devils Lake, ND, formerly of Leeds, ND, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the CHI, St. Alexius Hospital in Devils Lake, ND. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the Leeds Lutheran Church in Leeds, ND with Pastor Elaine Sveet officiating. Music will be provided by Lucia Jacobson. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Valley City, ND at a later date. Casket Bearers will be Pastor Richard Budd, Duane Jacobson, Gary Rolle, Kyle Pearson, Roy Snyder and Evadean Baglien.

Arlene Delores Hustoft was born in Harvey, ND to Edward and Myrtle (Moen) Hustoft. She lived on the family farm near Manfred, ND and attended grade school in Manfred and then Fessenden, ND. The family later moved to Kathryn ND. Arlene attended high school at Valley City State College High School and graduated in 1948. She continued her education at Valley City Teachers College and earned a teaching degree. Arlene began her teaching career at Green Consolidated School near Valley City and then taught at McClusky, ND for two years.

On June 6, 1953, Arlene was united in marriage to Eugene Triebold at Sheyenne Valley Lutheran Church in Kathryn, ND. The couple had two children – Ronald and Nancy. Eugene's job took the family to Morris, MN, Oakes, ND, Carrington, ND and Cooperstown, ND before finally being transferred to Leeds in 1963. Arlene resumed her teaching career in Leeds and taught third grade for 22 years. While teaching, she attended summer school at Valley City State University and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. She retired in 1991.

After retiring, the couple moved to Valley City and lived on the Triebold family farm for a few years and then returned to Leeds. In 2004 they moved to their present residence in Devils Lake.

Arlene was a long-time member of Leeds Lutheran Church and Leeds Lutheran WELCA. She was also an active member of Order of the Eastern Star.

Arlene is survived by her husband of 65 years, Eugene; daughter Nancy Triebold of Fargo ND; sister Barbara Bolz of St Cloud MN; sisters-in-law, Karen Hustoft of West Union, MN, Phyllis Hustoft of Maple Grove, MN and Virginia Hustoft of Houston, TX; aunt, Florence Murbach of Seattle, WA; uncle, Delbert Moen of Fargo, ND; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ronald; brothers, Myron, Lowell, Roger, Wayne, Norval and Jarrel.
