Arlice G. Georgeson, 85, of Esmond, ND,  died Friday, June 1, 2012, at the Carrington Health Center in Carrington.  Graveside services will be Tuesday, June 5th, 2012,  2:00 PM at Rosehill Cemetery in Esmond with Pastor David Walters officiating. Casket bearers will be her grandchildren:  Aaron,  Brock,  Matthew, Tony & Lance Georgeson,  Jamie Batemen,  Christeen Wurgeler,  Thea Buri,  Don, Doree,  Desiree,  Dustin and Devin Keplin.  Music will be from Marlene Keplin, vocalist with Jennifer Hagen, pianist.

Arlice Geneva Brown was born October 22, 1926, at Esmond, ND, to Allen and Alida (Anderson) Brown.  The family  moved to Towner and then back to Esmond when she was eight.  From the second grade through high school, Arlice attended the Esmond Public School and was the Salutatorian of the class of 1946.  She then attended summer school at Minot State and in 1947, summer school at Mayville State.  Arlice then taught for three years in the Odessa District near Selz and also for a year at a school near Brinsmade.   Arlice and Roy Georgeson were married on October 19, 1949 and made Esmond their home.  Arlice taught time release religion classes for three years and worked with the Headstart Program at the Esmond school.  She was employed for a number of years with the Area Low Income Council working with senior meals, WIC, Legal Aid, Day Care and the Winterizing Programs.

Arlice served on the Community Action Advisory Board in Bismarck, the Benson County Social Services Board and was a member of Esmond Park Board for thirty seven years.   She also was the secretary-treasurer of the Esmond Ambulance Service for over thirty five years.  Arlice received numerous plaques and acknowledgements for the years of dedication to the community.

Arlice enjoyed bowling, gardening,  reading,  sewing, playing checkers and the card game "I Buy" with her family.  She also enjoyed playing basketball during her high school years.

Surviving are her husband:  Roy of Esmond;  sons:    Verdane (Kimberly) Georgeson of Maddock,  Arlynn (Tammy) Georgeson of Glen Carbon, IL;  daughters:  Shelly Georgeson and her companion, LeRoy Senger of Crary, ND,  Denise Georgeson and her companion, LeeRoy Fischer of Beulah, ND and  Marlene Keplin of Grand Forks;  13 grandchildren;  22 great-grandchildren;  one great-great grandchild;  her siblings:  Orris (Sue) Brown of Minot,  Sharon Garboe in Texas,  Eunice Hudspeth in Florida and Joyce (Jim) Dooley of Hayward, CA;  and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents;  sons:  Roy, Jr., and Kerry;  brothers:  Lawrence,  Donald and Ermen and a  sister:  Beverly Johnson.
