Austin Phillip Thorp, 15, of Leeds, ND, died Saturday, October 13, 2012, at Trinity Medical Center in Minot.  Funeral services will be Saturday, October 20, 2012,  1:00 PM at the Leeds School Gymnasium with Pastors Michael Rohrer and Brock Sailer officiating.  Burial will be in North Prairie Lutheran Cemetery, north of Leeds.  Visitation will be Friday at North Prairie Lutheran Church from 6 to 7pm with a Time of Sharing at 7pm.  Casket bearers will be the members of the Benson County Wildcats Football Team.  Music will be from guitarist:  Pastor Ben Leuthy.  The Nelson Funeral Home in Leeds is in charge of the arrangements.

Austin Phillip Thorp was born December 13th, 1996, at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake, ND.  He was raised by his mother and father, Kim Thorp and Des McIntyre on the family farm near Leeds.  Austin was baptized by Pastor Clarence Stanley and was a member of North Prairie Lutheran Church.  He was currently a sophomore at the Leeds Public School and a member of the Benson County Wildcats football team.  Austin grew up with and looked up to his big sisters his entire life and often had trouble understanding why it took the girls much longer to get ready for the day. He said he has the best parents in the world and a home full of love.

Austin had a big heart and could light up a room,  putting  a smile on everyone at school, especially his close friends,  Carlito Leppard,  Timber Morgan,  Michael & Matt Ellison, Brady Stoll, Clay Kitzman and the football team.  Austin liked name brand clothing, working on cars, drinking Grape Fanta and lots of grape jelly on his bread.   He will be remembered by many for his favorite activities during his life:  spending time with his little sister, Danya, late nights working on trucks in the shop and haying with his dad,  doing mechanic work and carpentering with grandpa Phil, four wheeling, driving the golf cart and mechanics with brother, Joe;  loud music and working on car stereos with brother-in-law, Brent and  helping Papa Dwayne with the cattle, raking and baling.  Austin enjoyed the guitar and the song "Freebird", also deer hunting and fishing.  Austin was a giving person and even in death, his giving continued as his donation of organs have touched the lives of many people.

Surviving are his parents of Leeds;  sisters:  Nicole (Brent) Kiner of Pekin, ND,  Allison Stone of Junction City, KS,  Brenna Stone of Grand Forks and Danya McIntyre of Leeds;  a nephew:  Kelan Kiner;  step-brother and sisters:  Joe,  Ashley and Hanna McIntyre all of Mayville and Madee McIntyre of Leeds;  grandparents:  Phil and Linda Thorp of Deering, ND,  Larry and Faye McIntyre of Devils Lake and Papa Dwayne Erie of Leeds;  aunts and uncles:  Paul,  Loree,  Becky, Adah & Denard,  Yvette & Leon,  Dana & Nicole, Kori,  Tammy & Gary,  Kim & Greg,  Brenda & Randy,  James and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents:  Mannon & Karen Geisen and an aunt:  Terri.
