Beverly J. Dyste, 82 of Churchs Ferry, ND, died Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 5, 2014,   2:00 PM at the Cando Assembly of God Church in Cando with Pastor Michael Rohrer officiating. The Eulogy will be given by Bonnie Beaudoin.  Burial will be later in the spring at the Churchs Ferry Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7:30 PM with a 7:30 PM Prayer Service and a time of sharing at the Nelson Funeral Home in Leeds.   Casket bearers will be David Bolinski,  Jim Bolinski,  Rick Bolinski,  Steve Beaudoin,  Wendell Ihmels,  Brian Frank,  Ryan Gibbens,  Wes Gibbens,  Hunter Frank & Anthony Wentz.  Music will be from Special Delivery with Alice Damschen, pianist.

Beverly Jean Bolinski was born August 8, 1931 at New Rockford, ND to Emil and Lillie (Ostby) Bolinski.  She was raised near Oberon and graduated from the Oberon High School in 1949.  Beverly then worked at Mann's Department Store in Devils Lake.  She married Carl Dyste, Jr. on September 4, 1949 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Oberon.  The couple lived in Devils Lake and later moved to Maddock, ND.  In 1956, Beverly, Carl, Gene & Agnes Dyste purchased the Crossroads service station and café at the junction of highways 2 and 281 at Churchs Ferry.  Beverly cooked at the Crossroads for 35 years.  Through the years, she had a great impact on the lives of the many Churchs Ferry students that were employed at the Crossroads.

Beverly was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Churchs Ferry until its closure, where she taught Sunday School and was a member and past president of the WELCA.  She was also a member of the Wildrose Chapter of the order Eastern Star and Churchs Ferry Senior Citizens.  She enjoyed quilting,  cooking, entertaining,  dancing, fishing, playing cards, basketball and tending her floral garden.

Surviving is her husband:  Carl;  a son:  Mike (LaVonne) Dyste of New Braunfels, TX;  daughters:  Debbie Dyste of Minnewaukan, ND and Jan (Steve) Flaniken of Denver, CO;  9 grandchildren:  Alissa Dyste,  Shannon Holt,  Katrina Oldham,  Heather Frank,  Ryan Gibbens,  Wes Gibbens,  Jessica Flaniken,  Haley Flaniken and Jennifer Dunn;  11 great-grandchildren:  Harmony Dyste,  Morgan, Addison, Gavin & Bella Holt,  Mila Oldham,  Anthony Wentz,  Hunter Frank,  Kaydence Gibbens,  Sydni & Cameron Dunn and a sister-in-law:  Leone Bolinski.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents;  brothers:  James,  Virgil and Duane Bolinski;  sisters and brothers-in-law:  Winifred and Milt Hannaford,   Lois and Bud Stahl;  niece:  Jackie Barnett;  mother and father-in-law:  Carl, Sr and Addie Dyste and sisters-in-law:  Marion Bolinski and Fern Burcham.

Although we have not spent much time with her lately, she will be fondly remembered from our past visits and especially our visits when we were kids in ND. When I hear the Dyste name I think of the Crossroads. That was my introduction to the great people of Churchs Ferry.  Helen and Bill Olson had great friends and Bev and Carl are on that list. Carl- We are sorry for your loss. We would have liked to have attended the Tuesday night service but we did not know about it. For some reason, there has been nothing in the Minot paper, we receive.
