Obituary

Beverly A. Fragodt, of York, ND, died Monday, June 11, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Devils Lake.

Beverly Ann Fragodt (Shirley) was born to Gilmen and Mable (Larson) Shirley on April 24, 1929.   She was baptized and confirmed at Viking Lutheran Church, rural Maddock. Beverly attended the Arne School, rural Maddock for 8 years and graduated from the Benson County Agricultural School in Maddock in 1948.  She worked for the bank in Maddock and for Alvin Neumann, DDS, prior to her marriage.  Beverly married Harold Fragodt on November 22, 1953, at Viking Church. The couple made their home on the family farm where Harold grew up.

As a member of the St. Petri Lutheran Church, rural York, Beverly was involved with the Ladies Aid and taught Sunday School and Bible School.  She loved children and especially enjoyed the opportunity to share God's love with them. Her passion was her faith and she passed it on to her children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors through her works and words.  She spent many hours with her grandchildren sharing the traditions of baking buns, lefsa, and pies as well as reading books and Bible stories.  She was a loving and devoted wife supporting Harold with farm and other activities.

Beverly is survived by a son, James (Marie) Fragodt of Harlow, two daughters, Jean (Keith) Johnson of Grand Forks and Julie (Marco) Tollefson of Devils Lake, six grandchildren, Laura Nichols, Travis Johnson, Aaron Tollefson, Mindy Johnson, Kelly Fragodt and Rachael Tollefson.

Her husband, parents and a brother, Vernon, preceded her in death.

Jim, Jean, and Julie:  Sending our heartfelt sympathy for your loss.   Gary and Deb(Skaar) Johnson

Dear Family Members . . . Dorothy and I wish to express our sympathy for the loss of Harold & now Beverly. Beverly used to come and stay with my folks during the summer months, so I got to know her quite well. Bertha Larson, Beverly's Grandmother, also used to spend time with us over the years. Beverly was a kind, caring and giving person and we loved her very much. The last time I saw Harold & Beverly, I stopped by the farm in my Mini Motorhome and had a nice visit. Of course, I had to stay for lunch, which was delicious and Jim, you were also there that day. I do not remember the date but it is a very cherished memory . . . Love To All,  Duane & Dorothy Ellingson
