B oyd Harvey Stevenson, age 100, of Devils Lake, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, at Eventide Care Center in Devils Lake, ND. After 100 years on this earth, he went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Leeds Lutheran Church on May 15, 2026 at 11 am with Pastor Sharon Baker officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial and Military Honors will be held at the Leeds Lutheran Cemetery immediately following the service.

Born February 23, 1926, in Bisbee, ND, to Conrad and Helen Stevenson, Boyd grew up in Mylo, ND. He attended Mylo Elementary School, graduating from 8th grade in 1938. As a young man, he worked as a farmhand and later traveled to Seattle, WA, with his brother Harold to work for Sears and Boeing.

Boyd served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946 as a Military Policeman in Hawaii. His service awards included the Meritorious Unit Award, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, and Asiatic Pacific Service Medal.

After his discharge, he began a long career with Baker Electric in Cando, ND, transferring to Leeds as Foreman in 1951. He retired in December 1985.

On July 23, 1948, Boyd was united in marriage to Lois Strand in Cando, North Dakota. Boyd was a loving father to their five sons and one daughter.

On April 16, 1971, Boyd married Della Humble. They had one son, Kim, who died at birth. Boyd was also a caring stepfather to Della's 3 sons. They shared 48 years of marriage until Della's passing on May 15, 2019.

A lifelong resident of the Leeds area, Boyd was active in his community as a volunteer firefighter and ambulance member. He was a life member of the American Legion and Elks, and a member of the Lions Club and Leeds Golf Club. A lifetime member of Leeds Lutheran Church, he was a born-again Christian who loved reading his Bible and was ready to meet Jesus.

He celebrated his 100th birthday in February 2026 surrounded by family and friends.

Boyd is survived by his children Steve (Linda) Stevenson of Devils Lake, Scott (Becky) Stevenson of Henderson, NV, Sid (Paulette) Stevenson of Maple Grove, MN, Sandy (Cathy) Stevenson of Dakota Dunes, SD, and Sheila Stevenson Bailey of Knoxville, TN; 12 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by stepchildren Scott (Lynda) Humble of Cavalier, Don (Ellen) Humble of Mandan, and Jack (Trudy) Humble of Bismarck, ND, along with 6 step-grandchildren and 11 step great-grandchildren and 1 step great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Della, his former spouse Lois, his son Spencer and his son Kim, his parents, his brothers Clinton, Thomas, Harold, Kenneth and sisters Carmen, Edna, Opal, and Shirley.
