Christiane Jeannie Brandvold, 92, of Maddock, ND passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at the Maddock Memorial Home in Maddock, ND.  A Private Family Service will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Maddock Memorial Home: 301 Roosevelt Avenue Maddock, ND 58348-7132.

Christiane Jeannie (Crochet) Brandvold was born on December 14, 1931 in Vauxuin, France to Julien Crochet and Jeannie (Diot) Crochet.  They lived in Vauxuin for a short time before the war in 1940 to 1945, in which her father was killed on July 17, 1944, in a train station bombing.  After World War II was over, her mother later met and married her stepfather, Andre Gueho. They all lived in Soissons, France, where Christiane finished high school and went to work as a house maid for an upper-class family, and then later working at a tar tire factory, making tires.

Christiane was united in marriage to Allen Christian Brandvold on November 17, 1961 in Loan, France and they soon moved to the United States.  Allen retired from the United States Air Force in 1973 and the couple moved to Hesper, ND.   After Allen's death on May 17, 2003, she moved into Maddock.

In September of 2022, Christiane ended up moving into the Maddock Memorial Home, due to an illness.  She lived there until her passing at 92 ½ years old.  Christiane and Allen had five children. Three of their own, Patrick (Petra) Brandvold of Germany, Carol (Craig) Blomster of Harlow, ND and Allen (Becky) Brandvold of Maddock, ND; and Allen's two daughters, Carolyn and Deloras of Texas.  They have a total of 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.  Six grandchildren here in North Dakota, which Christiane loved to spend time and see pictures and videos of.

Christiane is preceded in death by her husband, Allen; her parents and six siblings.  Surviving are her children, Patrick (Petra) Brandvold, Carol (Craig) Blomster, Allen (Becky) Brandvold, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
