Dale L. Stenberg, 75, of Devils Lake, formerly Oberon, ND, died Monday, October 1, 2012, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Graveside services will be Friday, October 5th, 2012, 1:00 pm at Hillside Cemetery at Oberon, ND, with Pastor Debra Lommen officiating. Military Rites will be accorded by the North Dakota Military Honors Team.
Dale Lee Stenberg was born October 27, 1936 at Oberon, ND to Alvin "Ollie" and Blanche (Dabson) Stenberg. He graduated from the Oberon High School and then enlisted in the US Air Force. Following his honorable discharge, he worked at the John Deere Implement in Mohall. Dale and Hazel Solar were married October 6, 1963 in Mohall. They moved to Kent, Washington where he worked many years as a salesman for Burdick Feed. He continued to work in sales until retiring and moving back to Oberon in 2003. The couple moved to Devils Lake in 2010.
Dale served on the Oberon City Council for a time and enjoyed golf, bowling and all sports. He especially enjoyed western movies.
Surviving are his wife: Hazel of Devils Lake; daughters: Cynthia (Thomas) Nicaise of Enumclaw, WA and Karen (Richard) Talcott of Kent, WA; 6 grandchildren: Donnelle, Matthew, Kristen and Brian Nicaise, Rachel Eagan and Brandon Talcott; 2 great-grandchildren: Jacob Eagan and Lucas Daniel Nicaise; 3 sisters: Janice (Leslie) Ferry of Lakota, ND, Jacqueline (Lester) Roberts of Oberon and Sharon (Dwight) Nelson of Shawnee, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents.
