Delphine "Winue" (Oldest Daughter) Cavanaugh, 68, of Fort Totten, ND and of the Spirit Lake Nation, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away on September 19, 2024 at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Friday, September 27, 2024 at the Crow Hill Rec Center with Fr. Steven Meyer celebrating.  Visitation will be on Thursday, September 26, 2024 beginning at 5:00 PM at Crow Hill Rec Center with Rosary and Prayer Service at 6:00 PM.  Burial will be held at St. Jerome's Catholic Cemetery in Crow Hill, ND.  The procession to Crow Hill Rec Center will leave on Thursday at 4:45 PM from Hwy 281/ Hwy 57 Junction to the Crow Hill Rec Center.  All Drummers and Singers are welcome to share their songs.

Delphine (Littlewind) Cavanaugh was born March 7, 1956 to Ambrose and Theresa (Alex) Littlewind at home in Crow Hill, ND.  She attended her elementary school at the Little Flower School in St. Michael, ND.  She later graduated from the Devils Lake Central High School, class of 1974.  She played basketball while she was in high school and was a very active and involved person in Rodeo's (Barrel Racer), and family gatherings.

She was employed with several positions within the Spirit Lake Tribe which included, Tate Topa Tribal School (Cultural), SMC, Tribal Health Program, Elderly Program and the Spirit Lake Casino.  At the age of 65 she retired, but continued to be a grandmother and friend to everyone that knew her.  She assisted in raising her grandchildren after losing her daughter, Theresa, in a car accident.  She was baptized in the Catholic Church, her god parents were Melvine and Jacob Gourd.

Delphine was survived by her children, Garret J. Cavanaugh, Robert F Cavanaugh and RuthAnn Cavanaugh; grandchildren, Shina, Ramanda, Zander and Dion; also has numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sisters, Hopsty (Louie) DuBois, Carmen (Sonny) Littlewind, Onna Littlewind, Germaine (Darren) DeMarce; adopted sisters and special friends Peggy Cavanaugh and Renita (Bud) Shaw; brothers, Dean (Lolita) Dunn, Richard Littlewind; adopted brother's, Jerry Robertson, James Robertson Sr., Dustin Dauphinais, Joe Twohearts, Russell Comer and Joseph Gourd; godson, Frank Gourd Sr.; goddaughter, Arlis J. Littlewind; adopted daughter, Bridget Littlewind.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ambrose and Theresa (Alex) Littlewind, her husband, Robert (Bob) Cavanaugh; son, Jarvis Cavanaugh; daughter, Theresa Cavanaugh; sister, Lavina M. Littlewind; brother, Ambrose J. Littlewind Jr.; nieces, Lindsey, Leann, Johanna and Avis; nephews, John Littlewind, Mitchell Littlewind and Aaron Littlewind; grandparents, Joseph and Martha (HighElk) Littlewind; aunts, Vivian Mini, Catherine Littlewind, RoseMary Littlewind; uncles, Pius, John, Basil and Lawrence Littlewind.
