Obituary

Elizabeth Heisler, 95, of Esmond, ND, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 8th, 2010, at St. Aloisius Medical Center in Harvey, ND under Hospice Care. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, November 13th, 2010, at 10:00 AM  at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Esmond with Fr. Brian Bachmeier, celebrant.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7pm with a 7:00 PM Rosary followed by a Wake Service at 7:30pm all in the church.

Elizabeth (Keller) Heisler was born October 24th, 1915, rural Selz, ND, the daughter of Philip and Margaretta (Voeller) Keller.  She was raised in the home of her parents near Selz and received her education in a country school.  As a young woman, she worked for area families.  On July 16, 1934, she married Lucas Heisler in Selz.  They raised their family and farmed near Esmond for 37 years.  In 1971, they moved to Esmond.  Lucas died June 3, 1997.

Elizabeth was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Ladies Aid and Christian Mothers.  She was also a member of the Golden Age Club, Esmond VFW Auxiliary and the Harvey Eagles.  She enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, playing bingo and other functions until the beginning of this year when cancer began taking over her life.  Elizabeth then wasn't able to enjoy the things she once did with her wonderful friend, Anna Neis, family and other friends.  Estagen and Linda Zimmerman were truly a blessing from God to her and to her children.  They were there for Elizabeth in her time of need and filled in for her children when they couldn't be here to care for her.

She is survived by her children:  Isabelle (Bud) Wentz of Kent, WA,  Bernice (Art) Breiter of Groveland, CA,  Victor (Pat) Heisler of Valley Springs, CA,  Marvin (Jinny) Heisler of Kent, WA,  Evelyn (Ron) Volk of Lynnwood, WA and Donna (Henry) Bechthold of Elk River, MN;  14 grandchildren;  19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild;  2 sisters:  Lena Fettig of Martin, ND and Katie Schneider of Harvey, ND;  2 brothers:  Cornelius (Regina) Keller of Esmond and Joe (Lena) Keller of Harvey, ND;  a sister-in-law:  Barbara Keller of Velva, ND;  numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents;  husband;  an infant son;  a brother:  Pius Keller and a sister:  Rose Voeller.
