Elvin Henry Olson, 94, of Maddock, ND passed away Friday, September 27, 2024 at the St. Aloisius SMP Health Long Term Care in Harvey, ND.   Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at the Nelson Funeral Home Chapel in Maddock, ND with Pastor Shirley Teske officiating.  Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.  Burial will take place at the Klara Lutheran Cemetery in rural Maddock, ND.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Klara Lutheran Cemetery Fund: 4270 29th Street NE, Harvey, ND 58341.

Elvin Henry Olson was born to Ingrid (Limnell) and Gustaf Olson on January 7, 1930 in Arne Township.  He was baptized and confirmed at the Klara Lutheran Church.  Elvin grew up on the family farm south of Maddock, ND.  After attending grade school at the Arne School, he remained on the family farm taking over when his father retired.  He remained there until moving to Maddock, where he worked at Summer Manufacturing and Maddock Public School and helping Arlo Schmidt setting up for auction sales.  Elvin enjoyed bowling, reading, history and geography, family ancestry, playing bingo, and spending time with family and friends.

Elvin entered the Maddock Memorial Home and lived there until he transferred to the St. Aloisius Care Center in Harvey, ND, where he remained until his passing.

Elvin is survived by his sisters, Edna Overland and Violet Larson of Fargo, ND, and Darlene (Ron) Holtz of Bismarck, ND, as well as six nieces and six nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
