Estelle Harder, 68, of Rugby, ND formerly of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Friday, November 25, 2016 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, ND. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Nelson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Allen Campbell officiating. Visitation will begin one hour to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Maddock, ND.

Estelle Harder was born on April 14, 1948 in Maddock, ND to Harvey and Evelyn (Schuman) Piper. She grew up on a farm in rural Minnewaukan, ND and graduated from the Minnewaukan High School. Estelle continued her education in Fargo, ND and graduated with a degree in Economics from North Dakota State University.

After graduating, Estelle was married and the couple resided in Hampden, ND for a short time. She then moved to Devils Lake, ND where she lived for many years and was employed with a Day Care facility. Estelle moved to Rugby to help her parents through retirement and has resided there since. She had a love for horses as a young girl on the farm and throughout her adulthood, she enjoyed gardening and playing cards.

Estelle is survived by her sons, Reid Harder of Wahpeton, ND and Ryan Harder of Minnewaukan, ND; brother, Ronald Piper of Minnewaukan, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Evelyn (Schuman) Piper and her grandparents.
