Obituary

Evadean Marie Baglien, 74, of Leeds, ND passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019 at her home. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Leeds Lutheran Church in Leeds, ND with Pastor Sharon Baker and Pastor Elaine Sveet officiating. Visitation will take place from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Leeds Lutheran Church in Leeds, ND.  Visitation will begin one hour prior to service at the church on Friday. Burial will be at Leeds Lutheran Cemetery in Leeds, ND in the spring. Music will be provided by Dan Nybo, MiChelle Nybo and Courtney Holub. Casket bearers will be Ken and Cheryl Kresien, Christi and Kirk Carlson and Tim and Nancy Holub.

Evadean Marie Johnson, daughter of Alfred and Dorothy (Knutson) Johnson was born February 26, 1944. She attended Leeds Public school, graduating as salutatorian of the class of 1962. She attended Mayville State College and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in education. She taught elementary grades in Carrington and Minneapolis before returning to Leeds. She was united in marriage to Roger Baglien on June 21, 1968 in Leeds, ND.

Evadean taught elementary grades in Leeds from 1968 until her retirement in May, 2004. She also served as the Principal of the Leeds/York Elementary School. Evadean continued teaching as a substitute until her death. Evadean, though childless, loved children and was loved by children. She was affectionately known as Mrs. "B" by hundreds of children fortunate enough to have had her as their teacher.

Eveadean was very active in the Leeds Lutheran Church, serving at times as a lay pastor. She was President and very active in WELCA and led many fund-raising projects for improvements of the church.

Evadean is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Shirley Johnson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janet and Don Baken; an aunt, Norma Kessel and by many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roger, brother Wayne and special friend Bob Kjosa.
