Gerald (Jerry) Fenner, 70, of Minnewaukan, ND and formerly of Oshkosh, WI, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at his home in Minnewaukan. He was born in Neenah, WI on December 18, 1951 to Erwin and Dorla (Drews) Fenner. Jerry married Karen Feldner October 18, 2004.  He was raised in Winchester, WI, graduating from Winneconne High School and UW-Stout.  He was employed at The Radford Co. for many years.  In 2009 he and his wife moved to North Dakota forming a partnership with his wife, son and daughter-in-law and opened JJ's Bait and Tackle where he enjoyed making many acquaintances and new friends.

Jerry had many passions in life; boating, hunting, fishing, woodworking, trap shooting, NASCAR racing, Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers.  In the early sixties he helped his dad build their deer hunting camp "The Depot Shack" in Fremont, WI which still exists to this day. It is shared with family and friends. He was already packing for his trip back to WI in November. He was fortunate to take many hunting trips out west. Aside from big game hunting he enjoyed duck, goose and pheasant hunting. He was a Hunter/Safety instructor for over 15 years.

Jerry loved fishing.  He enjoyed the Spring Walleye Run on the Wolf River on the raft he shared with Greg, John and Jim Hildebrand.  Muskie fishing and Sturgeon spearing were on his must do list. He was able to continue his hunting and fishing passion in ND with his son Jason.  His new adventures after moving to ND was trail riding in his side-by-side. One memorable trip was a week in Deadwood.

If Jerry was your friend you had a friend for life.  His sister, Debbie Palmer shared her impressions and memories of Jerry as a Brother, Uncle and Friend.  He was; generous, thoughtful, easy to get to know, approachable, lifelong friend, always willing to help, trustworthy and Appreciated God's creation, always.

Jerry loved to have a good time and we sure did. He cherished all of his friends, too numerous to mention, but you all know who you are. Anyone who knew Jerry knew his two favorite sayings; "If the music is too loud you're too old" and "always remember get home the same day you left."  He will be missed by all who knew him.

Jerry is lovingly survived by his wife, Karen; son, Jason and daughter-in-law Shelle Feldner; sisters, Debbie (Brian) Palmer and Lori (Lyle) Olson; brother (from another Mother) Greg Hildebrand; brothers-in-law, Steve Palmer, David (Robin) Koepp and Jeff (Connie Collins) Stahl; nieces and nephews, Kaitlin Palmer, Brian Palmer, Brandon Palmer, Andrea (Todd) Harding, Andrew (Maraen Sommer) Fenner-Koepp, Jody (David Grond) Luft, Jamie Luft and Jon (Lisa) Luft; extra special great niece and nephew, Alexa and Niki.   We can't forget his "girls" dog, Stella Mae and cats, Miss Josie and Smokee.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Palmer; mother and father-in-law, Shirley and George Stahl; sister-in-law, Judith Luft; sister-in-law Linda Stahl.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Dakota Spirits in Minnewaukan. A memorial service will take place in the spring of 2023 in Oshkosh, WI.  Nelson Funeral Home of Minnewaukan is in charge of arrangements. Thank you Jerry for everything you did for me and always having my back. We made many memories fishing, hunting and trail riding.  Most of all, thank you for loving my mother!  You will be missed -  Jason

Jerry, you were always there for me when I needed you.  Rescuing me on the ice when I was plowing.  Always gutting my deer for me (Jason can't).  Fun times in the Man Cave cheering on the Packers, yes it got really really loud. Thanks for being you! I will miss you – Shelle
