Glenn W. Chapman, 93, of Everett, WA, formerly of rural Minnewaukan, ND, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012 under Hospice Care at the Christian Adult Care Home in Mesa, AZ.  Memorial services and burial will be held later at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, rural Minnewaukan.

Glenn Waldo Chapman was born January 21, 1919 on a farm near Minnewaukan, to Alfred Bradley and Ingaborg (Dokken) Chapman.  He was raised in North Dakota and attended grade school and part of his high school years at Minnewaukan.  The family then moved to the Harvey, ND area.  Glenn graduated from the Fessenden, ND high school in 1937. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1941 and served as a Carpenters 3rd Class, stationed in the Aleutian Islands.  While on leave in 1943, he married a grade school classmate, Evelyn T. Helgeson and along with daughter, Evadeen, moved to Oakland, CA where he was stationed at the Supply Depot.  The family later lived in Hayward, CA until Glenn was released from the Navy.  They also lived in Kelso, WA for a time.  Glenn and Evelyn purchased a home in Everett, WA and enjoyed raising sheep, hogs and cattle.  Glenn worked 65 years with the Carpenters Union of Longview, WA.   Following retirement, Glenn and Evelyn traveled to 36 countries.  They later bought a home in Mesa, AZ and spent the last 15 winters there.

Surviving are his wife:  Evelyn of Everett;  4 children:  Evadeen Brockway, Brad  and Jerald Chapman all of Lake Stevens, WA and Jewel Taylor of Arlington, WA;  4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents;  a brother:  Earl; and sisters:  Phyllis and Evelyn.
