Gloria D. Kallenbach, 84, of Esmond, ND, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at her home under the care of hospice and her family, after a brief battle with mesothelioma. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Esmond, ND with Pastor Harold Ovre officiating. Visitation will take place from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM followed by at 7:00 PM Prayer Service on Friday, January 19, 2018 at the Nelson Funeral Home in Maddock, ND. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Esmond, ND. Music will be provided by Paula Duren and Chrissie Hager. Casket Bearers will be all of Gloria's grandchildren.

Gloria D. Lamen was born September 1, 1933 to Morris and Jeanette (Sabbe) Lamen in Aurora Township, Flora, ND. She attended elementary school in Flora and graduated from the Benson County Agricultural and Training School in Maddock in 1951. Gloria was united in marriage to John H. Kallenbach, Jr. on March 2, 1952 in Maddock. The couple resided in Esmond where their family farmed and operated the Kallenbach Dairy Farm.

Gloria was a hard working farm wife who raised her seven children, milked cows twice a day and loved to bake for her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their sporting events. A high light of her life was watching four of her grandchildren play football in the state championship game. Gloria's favorite hobbies were crocheting Afghans, cross stitching for family and tending to her many flowers.

Gloria is survived by her children: Jeff (Shirley) Kallenbach of Dickinson, ND, Candace (Shawn) Knudson of Esmond, ND, Tim (Kris) Kallenbach of Maddock, ND, Jack (Shelly) Kallenbach of Esmond, ND, Mark (Tracy) Kallenbach of Maddock, ND and Jan (Jim) Kuehn of Savage, MN; 26 grandchildren: David (Avin), Patrick (Brandi), Kevin (Kellie), Joseph (Nicole Gunnarson) and Korey Kallenbach; Nicholas (Tonya), Trevor (Jennie Brueckner) and Matthew (Kayla Melaas) Knudson; Kasey (Jennifer) and Kirby Kallenbach; Karlee (Tim) Oksendahl; Jamie (Cassie Leraas) Kallenbach , Kara (Mike) Jacobs; Jaden (Ami Archer), Hailey, Brady and Camryn Kallenbach; Aaron, Evan, Ethan, Adam, Andrew, Alexander, Zachary, Hope and Luke Kuehn; 11 great-grandchildren: James and Annabelle Kallenbach; Kambree, Kyler and Karver Kallenbach; Laiken Fleck; Cole and Alonah Knudson; Ryan and Asher Kallenbach; Peyton Oksendahl.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Kallenbach, Jr; son, Daniel; parents, Morris and Jeanette (Sabbe) Lamen; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John G. and Anna Kallenbach.
