Hulda B. Faleide, 95, formerly of Maddock, ND passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Eventide Senior Living in Moorhead, MN. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30PM Monday, April 25, 2016 at the Viking Lutheran Church in rural Maddock, ND with Pastor Allen Campbell officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM - 8:00 PM Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the Nelson Funeral Home and will continue from 1:00PM to 2:30PM prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at the Viking Lutheran Cemetery in rural Maddock, ND. Memorials are preferred to the Viking Lutheran Church Music Fund: P.O. Box 219 Maddock, ND 58348.

Hulda was born on March 2, 1921, the youngest of five children, on the family farm of Alfred and Karine Lynne of rural Maddock, ND. Her education included eight years at the "Lynne School", across the road from their farm, and graduation from BCATS in 1939.

Hulda was a life-long member of Viking Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed. On August 29, 1940, she was united in marriage to Adolph Faleide and moved to the Faleide farm where they raised their six children.

Hulda lived on the farm until she moved into Maddock in 1994. In 2011 she moved to Fargo to be closer to most of her children. She loved caring for and visiting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever she could or was needed. Her family's favorite time of the year was Christmas when "Grandma" made Norwegian lefse and Scandinavian cookies for everyone. Over the years she gave lessons to her family who now keep up the tradition.

She was active in South Viking Homemakers Club and Viking Church Women, serving in many offices. Throughout her life, she sewed for her family, and in her years made hundreds of quilt tops for Lutheran World Relief. Another pastime was scrapbooking of history and family memories.

A favorite event for Hulda was a special trip she and her three daughters took to Norway in 2000. She said she felt like she was "home" when we came to her ancestor's home areas of her Mother and Grandparents.

Hulda is survived by her children: Alpha (William) Roeszler, Sharon Henshel, Donald (Judeen) Faleide, Patricia Pranke, Lanny (Lisa) Faleide; 15 grandchildren: Bradley (Ellen) and Brent (Anna) Haukness, Ana Roeszler, James (Janet), Richard (Christine) Faleide, Christine (Kevin) Gailfoil, Adam Henshel, Amy (Jeremy) Sieling, Nicole Wear, Sara (Rick) Harig, Steven (Laura) and Peter Pranke, Luke (Kristen), Nathan (Rachel), and Dylan Faleide; 18 Great-Grand Children: Kirsten Haukness, Marina, Andy & Isabel Haukness; Brandon & Madison Faleide, Alex, & Natalie Faleide, Taylor & Riley Gailfoil, Lily & Lincoln Henshel, Gabriel Sieling, Grace Wear, Trista & Ricky Harig, Hayden & Owen Faleide; sister: Olive Ryder; sister-in-law: Ruth Faleide Anderson.

Hulda was preceded in death by her husband Adolph, her parents Alfred & Karine Lynne; her son: Mayo Faleide; her sons-in-law: Steven Haukness, Larry Henshel, and Steve E. Pranke; and her siblings: Hazel Hagen, Margit Weiss, & Gordon Lynne.
