Maddock

Obituary

Ida Helen Anderson Hofer, 95, of Maddock, ND passed away December 10, 2024 at Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND.  A Memorial service will be planned in the future and she will rest in peace at the Eden Cemetery, rural Sheyenne, ND.

Ida was born June 9, 1929 to Edward and Minnie (Bjertness) Anderson on the family farm west of Sheyenne, N. D. She attended country school near the farm through 8th grade.

Ida was such a kind spirit. Always keeping to herself but having a great sense humor and subtle one liners when she felt comfortable enough to share. Ida was an avid lover of Coke soda pop; she never missed a day without it. She never missed a coffee hour at the Memorial Home. She loved playing BINGO, and attending root beer pong, and weekly happy hour. She formed many great connections with the Maddock Memorial Home staff, including one of her favorites "Lulu". Ida will forever be remembered for her gentle soul with everyone and her pink lipstick. A special thank you to the Maddock Public School elementary students who brightened Ida's day by providing her with daily letters to read over the past several weeks.

She is survived by her son, Herb Hofer Jr.; grandsons, Brooks (Meredie) Hofer and Gavin (Amy) Hofer; grandchildren, Amelia Hofer, Easton Hofer, Keeley Hofer, and Colton Hofer; sister-in-law, Marlene Ensminger; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Minnie; sisters, Cora Lysne and Gloria Ludwig; brothers, Marvin, Orley, and Leslie; sisters-in-law, Emma Anderson, Velma Anderson, Viola Anderson, Elvira Cudworth, Naomi Hofer, and Shirley Hofer; brothers-in-law, Tim Ludwig, Kennth Lysne, Elmer Anderson, Fred Cudworth, Bill Hofer, Bud Hofer and Don Hofer; niece, Kitty Weist; nephews, Jack Anderson, Randy Cudworth, Danny Hofer, and Lee Hofer.

We would like to thank all her caregivers during her years at the Maddock Memorial Home.
