James 'Jim' C. Hofstrand, 74, of Leeds, ND passed away Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Towner County Living Center in Cando, ND.  Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Leeds Lutheran Church with Pastor Connie Monson officiating.  Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.  Burial will take place at Leeds Lutheran Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Leeds Lutheran Cemetery: P.O. Box 76 Leeds, ND 58346.

James C. Hofstrand was born June 27, 1947 to Harold and Marian (Rahn) Hofstrand in Devils Lake, ND.  He attended school in Leeds, where he was active in football, basketball and FFA.  Jim graduated from Leeds High School with the class of 1965.  Jim furthered his education, attending the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks and North Dakota State University in Fargo. He then returned home to Leeds to farm and raise a family.

Jim was united in marriage to Lois Heskin, and to this union the couple raised three children: sons, Jeremy and Jesse; step-daughter, Heather.  Jim was a hardworking man and instilled that work ethic to his children. His boys started custom combining with him around age 10, from 1988-1994, traveling from Oklahoma back to North Dakota.

Jim was a member of the Leeds Lutheran Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Jim is survived by his sons, Jesse (Merri Johnson) of Leeds, ND, Jeremy (Rachel) of Audubon, MN; step-daughter, Heather of Grand Forks, ND; five grandchildren, Patrick, Teagan, Kylie, R.J. and Michael; brother, Ronald of Leeds, ND; sister, Susan Gant, Cumming, GA; numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Marian Hofstrand; brother, Douglas (Hazel) Hofstrand; brother-in-law, John Gant.
