James E. Ellingson, 58, of Maddock, ND, died Sunday, July 4, 2010, in the Palliative Care Unit of MeritCare Hospital in Fargo. Memorial services will be Sunday, July 11, 2010, 2:00 pm at the Zion Lutheran Brethren Church in Maddock with Pastor Luther Mathison officiating. Burial will be at St. Olaf Cemetery, rural Minnewaukan. There will be no visitation.
James Edward Ellingson was born October 4th, 1951, to Melvin and Ruth (Torgerson) Ellingson. He was raised on the family farm south Leeds, ND, attended Gallinger rural school, Brinsmade Public School and graduated from the Leeds High School. Jimmy worked for a time at the Mount Baker Plywood factory in Bellingham, WA. He was employed for a number of years at Rock Lake Equipment, where he managed their custom combining operation. He later farmed for Lane Jacobson of Esmond. Jimmy and his brothers traveled many states installing ceramic tile. He retired due to his health.
He will be remembered as an excellent mechanic. Jimmy enjoyed playing pool and traveling.
Jimmy is survived by his mother: Ruth Ellingson of Mesa, AZ; three brothers: Richard (Judi) Ellingson of Tucson, AZ, Robert Ellingson of Maddock & Donald Ellingson of McMinville, OR; a sister: Diane (LeRoy) Fossen of Mesa, AZ; a sister-in-law: Pam Ellingson of Harlow, ND; a number of nieces and nephews.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Melvin, on June 22, 1981 and a brother, Daniel Ellingson, on July 21, 2005.
