Janice Kay Elder, 67, of Maddock, ND, formerly of Texas; passed into the arms of the Lord following a tragic car accident on Tuesday, January, 30, 2024. She was born on March 26, 1956 to Luther and Eula (Chandler) Elder. She graduated from McKinney High School in McKinney, TX and then earned a degree in dental hygiene from Tarrant County Junior College in Fort Worth, TX. Janice devoted over 30 years to dental hygiene practice in Texas before retiring and moving to North Dakota with her family. During her retirement, she enjoyed gardening, book club, socializing, and traveling. However, her most valued days were the time that she was blessed to have with her 3 grandchildren as she watched them grow and explore the world.

Janice is survived by her devoted son, Jonathan Woolsey and his wife Cheryl (Stickles) of Fessenden, ND; three grandchildren, Alicia, Levi and Andrew; siblings Linda Trench, Mary Banner, and Benny Elder of Texas. She was predeceased by her parents, and her siblings Purvis Griffis, Susie Olavesen, Larry Elder and Jerry Elder.

A funeral vigil will take place on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024 at 5 p.m. at St. Williams Catholic Church in Maddock, ND. Visitation will be open to the public at 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.; also at St. Williams Catholic Church in Maddock.
