Jean was born on March 31 1942 at Maddock Memorial Hospital to Lloyd and Ida (Risovi, Nelson) Larson. She attended schools in Heimdal, Fessenden and graduated from BCATS in Maddock in 1960. Jean married the love of her life, Frank L. Mosser, on July 10, 1960 at North Viking Lutheran Church. They had just celebrated their 59 th wedding anniversary.

Frank and Jean were lifelong residents in the Maddock area. For six years after marriage, they lived in Isabelle Township before moving into their current home in the City of Maddock. Jean worked at Great Plains Supply in Maddock for 10 years before becoming the City Auditor in Maddock. She worked as the Auditor for 29 years before retiring in December 2007. After retirement, she worked part time at the US Post Office and Maddock Café and Lanes.  Just prior to her death, Jean was residing at the Maddock Memorial Home.

Jean was active in the Maddock community until falling ill. She served as an ambulance attendant for years with the Maddock Ambulance, was on the Park Board, participated as a 4-H leader for the Maddock Marionettes, taught Sunday School, participated in Ladies Aide and the Maddock Historical Society where she was involved with the Wore Before and More Store in its early years and was a long time member of the Evening Stars Homemakers.  She was a longtime member of the Theodore A Togstad Post #123 Auxiliary where she served in many leadership roles and the color guard. The Red Hat Ladies was a favorite of hers. She served as the ND Municipal Finance Officers Association President and Second-Vice-President during her years with the City of Maddock. She loved when Rachel Markestad had sewing projects for local musicals. There are many other organizations as she was always busy helping with something.

In Jean's later years she participated with Dresses for Orphans at the Apache Wells Community Church in Mesa, AZ; and was a member of the Git'er Done Piecemaker's Quilting Club annually participating in their "Surgical Hats for Kids" Day.  Countless sets of dishtowels were embroidered and given as gifts to nieces and nephews and donated to various benefits and fund raisers. She had a passion for sewing and quilting and she loved doing picture puzzles in her later years.

Jean is survived by her husband, Frank L Mosser of Maddock; 3 children, Debbie (Rick) Anderson of New Salem, ND, Sheila (John) Gibbs of Bismarck, ND and Jason (Shari) Mosser of Mandan; ND, 4 grandchildren, Marc, Lynne, Roland and Lara; 5 great-grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great grandchildren; and 3 siblings, Robert (Patricia) Nelson of Bismarck, Shirley (Jim) Zeien of Fargo and Kenneth Nelson of Beulah; and 2 sisters-in-law, Ann Slater of Maddock and Shirley (Leo) Wahl of Spokane, WA, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
