Jeffrey H. Plum, 47, of Maddock, ND, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Innovis Health in Fargo. Funeral services will be Friday, July 3rd, 2009, 2:00 PM at North Viking Lutheran Church in Maddock with Pastor Allen Campbell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7pm at the Nelson Funeral Home in Maddock. Casket bearers will be: Byron Brenno, Ryan Johnson, Frank Mosser, Adam Nielsen, Wayne Randle and Doyle Schwanke, Music will be from Jim Gilbertson, soloist with Rachel Markestad, pianist.
Jeffrey Howard Plum was born April 30th 1962 at Maddock, ND, to Howard and Irene (Johnson) Plum. He was raised in Maddock and graduated from the Maddock High School in 1980. During high school, Jeff was active in all sports and did custom combining in the summers. He graduated in 1982 from the North Dakota State College of Science at Wahpeton with a certificate in heating, plumbing and cooling. Jeff worked in Dickinson, Maddock and Fargo before returning to Maddock in 1996, where he co-owned Plum's Hardware with his mother until 2001. He returned to the plumbing trade and was employed as a journeyman plumber and job foreman with Robert Gibb & Sons of Fargo at the time of his death. Jeff was once married to Sara Brenno Nielsen.
Jeff was a life member of North Viking Lutheran Church in Maddock and a vested member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 300 in Fargo. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching NASCAR and playing pinochle. Jeff especially enjoyed coaching Maddock Junior High football when his step-son was on the team, and sharing with the young people in his life the hunting, fishing and pinochle skills he learned from his father.
Surviving are his mother: Irene of Maddock; a brother & sister-in-law: Richard & Connie Plum of Mapleton, ND; a sister: Cathy Rienstra of Bismarck; special friend: Sara Plum of Minnewaukan; step-children: Angie (Josh) Clarke of Madison, WI, Andrew Nielsen of Fargo and Adam Nielsen of Williston; a niece and nephew: Callie Rienstra and Ryan (Elizabeth) Johnson; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
