Joan Kay Rodican (Smith) will be laid to rest at 1:00 PM August 14, 2021 at Vasa Lutheran Cemetery in rural Esmond, ND. Joan, 75, of Reno, Nevada passed away in Reno on November 26, 2020. Joan was born in Maddock, ND to Edwin W. Smith and Orva J. Smith (Bratvold). She was raised in Maddock, Bismarck, Jamestown and Minot, ND. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to: Vasa Lutheran Cemetery 4233 46 ^th Avenue NE Esmond, ND 58332 or The Sonja Henie Lodge #29 Daughters of Norway 1300 Stardust Street Reno, NV 89503.

Joan will be remembered for her bigger than life personality and her wonderful laugh. She was a caring mother and grandmother. She was a true friend to numerous family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cherie; parents, Edwin and Orva Smith; husband, Patrick Rodican.

Left to treasure their memories of Joan are her stepdaughter, Shannon Negrete; sister, Ellie Borchman (Ken); brother, David R. Smith (Lorraine); grandchildren, nephews, nieces and lots and lots of friends.
