John Elmer Von Alman Jr., 86, of Valley City, ND and formerly of Leeds, ND passed away Friday, July 21, 2023 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.  Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 Friday, August 4, 2023 at Leeds Lutheran Church with Pastor Connie Monson officiating.  Visitation will begin two hours prior to the service at the church.  Burial will take place at Lebanon Cemetery in Brinsmade, ND.

John Elmer Von Alman Jr. was born December 21, 1936 to Henry J. Von Alman Sr. and Agnes (Lavender) Von Alman in Cando, ND.  John was united in marriage to Sharon Gerald and the couple resided in Cando for a short while before relocating to Leeds, ND.  Together, John and Sharon raised five children.

John worked as a Carpenter for over twenty years.  When he was not working, you could find John helping somebody in need.  His favorite past time was spent playing cards, particularly Pinochle.  John was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friends – he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

John is survived by his sons, Rich Von Alman of Minnesota and Steve Von Alman of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Julie (Joseph) Glines, Cassandra Riediger, Arthur (Angela) Frieze and Elizabeth (Barb) Frieze; numerous great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; parents, Henry and Agnes Von Alman; and three siblings.
