Julian Antoine "Juice" Demarce, 6, of Willmar, MN and of the Spirit Lake Nation, began his journey to the Spirit World on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, MN.
The Wake for Julian will begin at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Fort Totten Rec Center in Fort Totten, ND followed by a Scripture Service at 8:00 PM. The procession will be leaving Wednesday at 3:30 PM from 281 Junction/Hwy57 to the Fort Totten Rec Center.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the Fort Totten Rec Center in Fort Totten, ND. Music will be provided by the Spirit Lake Drum Group and drum groups are welcome to share their songs in memory of Julian. Burial will be held at the Presbyterian Cemetery in Crow Hill, ND.
Pallbearers for Julian will be David Dunn, Jeremy Demarce, Jerome Demarce Jr., Angel Cervantez, Alberto Mendoza, Dedrick GreyBear, Loren GreyBear Jr., Josiah Brown, Galen GreyBear and Grant Cavanaugh. Honorary Bearers will be Julian's cousins: Alaura GreyBear, Mariah Fassett, Aria GreyBear, Mia GreyBear, DaeRon Dunn, Natalee Demarce, Lexi Cavanaugh, Damon Cavanaugh, Rooney Potts, Josephina Juarez, Aaliyah MedicineStone, Samuel GreyBear, Kameron GreyBear, Kenyon GreyBear, Tylin GreyBear and Thomas Nestell. Special Bearers for Julian will be his favorite cousins, Hector Mendoza and Aria GreyBear and all his classmates and the staff of the Roosevelt Elementary School in Willmar, MN.
Julian Antoine "Juice" Demarce was born January 11, 2010 in Grand Forks, ND to Aja Demarce and Destry Simmons Sr. and raised by his parents Aja Demarce and Cesar Rodriguez. He grew up in Willmar, MN and on the Spirit Lake Nation. He attended school at the Minni H Elementary School in Devils Lake, ND and was currently attending school at the Roosevelt Elementary School in Willmar, MN.
Julian was always smiling, happy and full of joy. He loved tacos "greasy tacos", pizza and the color blue. He enjoyed playing basketball, playing video games on his Xbox, music, skateboarding and playing with his brother and sister, Ciara. Julian loved spending time with his grandparents in Willmar, MN, Jody and Rosa, who help raise him to be bilingual in Spanish. He admired his uncle, Angel, and was always trying to copy and dress just like him. Julian always looked forward to coming home to the Spirit Lake Nation for holidays and summers.
Julian is survived by parents, Aja Demarce and Cesar Rodriguez; siblings, CiaraLee Evans, Zayne Demarrias and Elias Rodriguez; maternal grandparents, Annabel Demarce, Isabel (Clarence) Leftbear, Lupe (Darnell) Crowford, Lili Demarce, Donna Walkingeagle, Francine (Russ) McDonald, Leon Cavanaugh, Jesse (Angela) Cavanaugh, Paul Cavanaugh, Tim Demarce Sr., Jerome Demarce Sr.; paternal grandparents, Rosa Mendoza and Jose 'Jody' Cervantez; maternal great-grandmother, Bernice Juarez, Myrna Greene, Evangeline White, Genevive Liberty, M.Yvonne Longie, George (Jeri) Longie Sr., Fred Longie Sr.; maternal great-great grandparents, Maggie Moxness and Solomon Sherman; aunts and uncles, Areonna GreyBear, Alexa Demarce, Alicia Demarce, Aerial Demarce, Cheyenne (Doug) Demarce Cambridge, Marisol Mendoza, David (Tamara) Dunn, Jeremey (Brooke) Demarce, Jerome Demarce Jr., Angel Cervantez, Alberto Mendoza and Anthony Demarce.
This has been an overwhelmingly sad time for our family and if we missed any of Julian's dear friends and relatives we apologize.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, William G. Cavanaugh; great-grandmother, Loretta Demarce; great-grandfather, Alexander 'Snorky' Demarce; uncle, Samuel Demarce and many great uncles.
