Karen Carlson, 63, of Devils Lake, ND and formerly of Maddock passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society in Devil Lake, ND. Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday, January 5, 2016 at the Nelson Funeral Home in Maddock, ND with Pastor Luther 'Lu' Mathison officiating. Burial will take place at the Antelope Valley Lutheran Cemetery in rural Oberon, ND in the spring.

Karen was born July 11, 1953 to Ernest and Juanita Roberts (Harmon) Buehler in Maddock, ND. She grew up in Maddock, ND and graduated from Maddock High School. Upon graduating, Karen was employed at the Maddock Memorial Hospital as a Nurses Aid for five years. She then moved to Devils Lake where she was employed with Mercy Hospital for ten years. Karen had a passion for helping others and also had a love for cats.

Karen is survived by her step father, Roger Roberts of Devils Lake, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Juanita Roberts Buehler and a brother, Lee Buehler.
