Katie Wolfe, 101, of Esmond, ND, passed away at the Trinity Nursing Home in Minot, ND on Saturday, July 9, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Esmond, ND with Fr. Brian Bachmeier celebrating the mass. Visitation will be held Friday, July 15, 2016 at the St. Boniface Catholic Church from 4:00PM to 7:00PM with a Rosary starting at 7:00PM and Vigil Service beginning at 7:30PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Burial will take place at the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Esmond, ND. Music will be provided by June Prom, Rosalie Axtman and Joe McPherson. Casket Bearers will be Jim McPherson, Shane Wolf, Wade Wolf, Derek Reierson, Devin Reierson, Travis Brown, Josh Wolfe, Glenn Wolfe, Jon McPherson and Greg Wolfe. Honorary Casket Bearers are all of Katie's grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren as well as the Christian Mothers Confraternity.

Katherine "Katie" Vetter was born on May 9, 1915 to Joseph and Christina (Schweitzer) Vetter Sr. in rural Selz, ND. She was raised in rural Selz and attended school at the Strasburg District County School. Katie married John Wolfe Jr. on July 3, 1934 in Selz. They farmed in the Esmond, ND area for many years, moving into Esmond in 1948 and continued to farm and ranch until John's passing in 1985. Katie continued living in Esmond until 2011, when she moved into the Haaland Assisted Living in Rugby, ND. In 2014 she moved into the Brookdale/Brentmoor Assisted Living in Minot, ND and was currently residing in the Trinity Nursing Home for a short time in Minot.

Katie was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Christian Mothers Confraternity, Ladies Aid and Golden Age Club all in Esmond, ND. She enjoyed gardening, baking, crocheting, dancing, playing bingo and the Esmond Café.

Katie is survived by her children: Pat (Janie) Wolfe of Esmond, ND, Tim (Sandy) Wolfe of Esmond, ND, Rosella (Mel) Fredenburg of Fargo, ND, Berneice (Dan) Reierson of Minot, ND and Shirley (Rick) Brown of Minot, ND and daughter-in-law, Beatrice Wolfe of Esmond, ND; 26 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren and many step-decendents.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Wolfe Jr.; children: Harriet Wolfe, Elmer Wolfe, Victor Wolf and daughter-in-law, Mary Elaine Wolf; one infant daughter and one infant son; one grandson, Chad Reierson; one great-grandson, Derick Wolfe and nine siblings.
