Kurt Bowman, 63, of Leeds, ND, passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 13, 2016. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30PM on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the Lebanon Free Lutheran Church with Pastor John Osborne officiating. A reception will be held at Jan's RV Park Building immediately following the service for all to attend. Music will be provided by Jody Osborne and Linda Stevenson. Honorary Urn Bearers will be Jack Humble Sr., Michael Torgerson, Tom Torgerson, Vinny Duffy, Kevin Bowman and Darcy Torgerson.

Kurt Bowman was born October 23, 1952 to Clifford and Constance (Conama) Bowman in Oceanside, CA. He grew up in San Jose, CA and attended Silver Creek High School. Kurt joined the United States Marine Corps and was stationed at the Marine Corps Camp Pendleton. He met his wife, Leslie, in Fremont, CA in 1974 and the couple was married on September 25, 1976 at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fremont.

Kurt worked for the Bethlehem Steel Company in San Francisco before the couple moved to North Dakota in 1996 and has made their home in Leeds, ND since that time. Kurt worked for Integro Castings in Cando, ND and more recently for Summers Manufacturing in Devils Lake, ND until the time of his illness. Kurt was a handy man and could fix anything. He liked to work on cars, remodel homes and playing cards.

Kurt is survived by his wife of 39 years, Leslie; children, Brynn Volness of Fargo, ND, Ryan Bowman of St. Paul, MN and Keith Bowman of Surrey, ND; grandchildren, Alice, Lucas, and Aria; eight sisters and three brothers.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford; his grandparents; three brothers and two sisters.

The Nelson Funeral Home of Leeds, ND is in charge of the arrangements.
