Lavina M. (Hoppa) Littlewind 61, of the Spirit Lake Tribe, passed away on Wednesday, July 31st, 2019 at the Sanford Hospital in Fargo ND, due to medical reasons. Lavina was surrounded by her loving family and friends. The Wake for LaVina will begin at 5:00 PM Friday, August 9, 2019 at the Crow Hill Recreation Center in Crow Hill with a Rosary and Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 PM. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the Crow Hill Recreation Center with Rev. Charles Leute, O.P. celebrating and Reverend Larry Thiele. Burial will take place at the St. Jerome's Catholic Cemetery in Crow Hill, ND. Drum group Spirit Lake Tribe and all other drum groups welcome.

Lavina M. Littlewind (Hoppa), Sunka Wankan ob Mani Win "She walks with Horses Woman" was born on March 13, 1958. Her loving parents were Ambrose & Theresa (Alex) Littlewind. Lavina was educated at the Little Flower Elementary School in St. Michael and later graduated from Oberon Public School, Class of 1977. Lavina loved to play baseball and basketball and Coach her co-ed team, she loved to ride horseback which was her only way to travel short cuts across the REZ. She was employed at several jobs through the years which included: SMC, Spirit Lake Casino and the Elderly Program. Lavina was a wonderful stay at home Grandmother. Lavina was a quiet and respectful woman who was always willing to help out when she was needed. Lavina was baptized in the Seven Dolors Catholic Church and her God parents were Agnes & James Brown. Lavina left us many Memories that will never be forgotten. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Lavina is survived by her loving family; Son, Duane Littlewind; Grandchildren, Lynsana Dubois, Jaydin Dubois, Devin Littlewind and D'Andrew Littlewind; Sisters, Delphine Cavanaugh, Hopsty (Louie) Dubois, Carmen (Eugene) Littlewind, Onna Littlewind and Germaine (Darren) Demarce; Brothers, Dean (Lolita) Dunn and Ambrose Littlewind Jr.; Adopted Brothers, James Robertson, Dustin Dauphinais and Joseph Twohearts; Godchild, Austin J. Littlewind; Aunts, Lorraine Greybear, Violet Smith, Geraldine Redfox and Judy Ami; Uncles; Winfield Chaske Sr., John Chaske Sr. Joseph Lawrence Sr.; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Lavina was welcomed home by her Parents, Ambrose & Theresa Littlewind; Children Lindsey, Johnna, John, Leann & Avis, Grandson, Stacey; Nephews, Mitchell, Aaron and Jarvis Grandparents, Joseph & Martha (HighElk) Littlewind.
