Lennis Foss, 70, of Leeds died Sunday, March 2, 2014, at the Veterans Hospital in Fargo.  Funeral services will be Friday, March 7, 2014,  2:00 PM at the Nelson Funeral Home in Leeds with Pastor Richard Budd officiating.  Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan.  Visitation will be an hour before the funeral.

Lennis Boyd Merlyn Foss was born September 20, 1943 at Rugby, ND, the son of Invald and Myrtle (Valde) Foss.  He was raised in Leeds, graduating in 1961 from the Leeds High School.  Lennis worked on the farm until enrolling at the Wahpeton State School of Science in 1963 to study Industrial Drafting, sheet metal and air conditioning.  Lennis then moved to Minneapolis in 1967 and worked the summer until being drafted in to the US Army and serving in Korea.  He was honorably discharged in 1969 and worked in Washington prior to returning to Leeds and farming for several years.  Lennis worked for a time in Minot then in Bismarck, living in Mandan for 10 years.  He returned to Leeds where he farmed and also did maintenance work at REM in Devils Lake until retiring in 2007.

Lennis was a member of Leeds Lutheran Church,  Sidney Britsch American Legion Post # 268 at York, the Robert Tovsrud VFW Post #757 of Harlow and the Street Rod Association.  He enjoyed street rods and fishing.

Surviving are a daughter:  Tiffaney Two Eagle of St. Michael, ND;  grandchildren:  Arianna Driver,  Winfield Andrew Chaske III  and Collin Chaske;  a niece:  Bonnie Ostreim and nephews Jeff Ostreim and James Ostreim.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister:  Joyce Ostreim.
