Linda N. Summers, 67, of Maddock, ND passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the North Viking Lutheran Church with Pastor Allen Campbell officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service Friday, November 4, 2016 at the Nelson Funeral Home in Maddock, ND. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held at the North Viking Lutheran Cemetery in Maddock, ND.

Linda N. Summers was born December 19, 1948 to Norman and Lillian (Williams) Fossum in Maddock, ND. Linda attended Albert Township School, Maddock Public School and graduated from BCATS in 1966. She attended Lake Region Junior College and graduated in secretarial training. In the 1960's, Linda worked at the ASCS office in Minnewaukan for a short period of time.

Linda was united in marriage to Larry Summers on October 7, 1967 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Maddock. In 1968, Larry enlisted in the United States Army for three years. While in the Army, the couple lived in Erlangen, Germany for two and one half years. They returned home in 1971 and made Maddock their permanent home. Linda worked for the Summers Manufacturing Company as their first computer operator.

Linda taught Sunday and Bible School at the North Viking Lutheran Church. She also was a member of the North Viking WELCA, Sons of Norway, volunteered at the Maddock Public School and was very active in the Jayceettes. Linda enjoyed sewing, reading, bowling, golfing, yard work and tending her flowers. She also loved to decorate for every holiday and was an expert lefsa maker.

Linda is survived by her husband of 49 years, Larry Summers; children, Nicole Summers of Seattle, WA and Christopher Summers of Grand Forks, ND; sisters, Carol Fossum of Maddock, ND and Barb Fossum of Maddock, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Lillian(Williams) Fossum and her brother, Ron Fossum.
