Lorraine A. Tester, 87, of Leeds, ND died Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the Aneta Parkview Health Center.    Mass of Christian Burial for Lorraine will be held on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 10:30 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Leeds, ND. Fr. Joseph D'Aco will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in the St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery.   Visitation will be held at the Nelson Funeral Home of Leeds on Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 4 to 7 pm with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 7 pm.

Serving as casket bearers will be:  James Skold,  James Harasyn,  Justin Nelsen,  David Harasyn,  Daniel Harasyn,  Bob Holm,  Neil Lotvedt and Clarence Nelsen. Honorary casket bearers will be Lorraine's nieces and nephews, the St. Vincent de Paul Altar Society and American Legion Auxiliary. Gift bearers will be Andrea Harasyn, Meagan Holm and Owen Holm.

Lorraine Tester was born on July 19, 1923 in Leeds, ND, the daughter of Anthony and Anna (Lissen) Solga. She grew up and was educated in Leeds and graduated from Leeds High School. Lorraine enjoyed many different careers – she was a waitress, a clerk at Fredrickson's Red Owl Grocery Store and Petsinger's Clothing Store in Leeds and a bank teller at the Farmers State Bank in Leeds.

Lorraine was united in marriage to William "Skinner" Tester on May 15, 1944 in Miami, FL. The couple lived in Forrest Grove, OR and Van Nuys, CA before settling down in Leeds, ND.  In their younger years, Lorraine and Skinner loved to get dressed up and go out on the town, both having the ability to talk with anyone and make many new acquaintances. Opening the York Flea Market was a natural thing for them to do. Lorraine was really in her glory when she was wheeling and dealing at the Flea Market, always looking for those "cash customers" to come through the doors. She loved chocolate, a good cup of coffee and a homemade doughnut and to plant flowers in the spring. Lorraine was active in the Altar Society at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Homemakers Clubs and the American Legion Auxiliary. Lorraine was also one of the first to participate in Eucharistic Adoration at St. Vincent de Paul.

Lorraine will be greatly missed by her niece: Elise (Jim) Harasyn of Maple Grove, MN; nephew: James (Dianna) Skold of Leeds; her great-nieces and nephews: Andrea Harasyn, David Harasyn, Daniel (Kaylee Schmelzer) Harasyn, Meagan (Bob) Holm and Jessica (Justin) Nelsen; sister-in-law: Mildred Solga of Devils Lake; and many other nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband: Skinner; her parents; two sisters: Victoria (Solga) Skold  and Gertrude Skold; and three brothers: Raymond, Floyd and Vincent Solga.
