Obituary

Lorraine Zettler, 65, of Leeds, ND, died Friday, April 3, 2009, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.  Mass of the Resurrection will be Wednesday, April 8, 2009, 11:00 AM  at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Leeds with Fr. Joseph D'Aco, celebrant and Robert Kraft, lector.  Burial will be later in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30pm Tuesday at the church were there will be a 7:30pm Parish Vigil and Rosary.  Visitation will continue on Tuesday an hour before the Mass.  Casket bearers will be:  Terry Eback,  Jason Olsen,  Jeremy Olsen,  Timmy Eback,  Paul Zettler and Mark Eback.  Music will be from Sue Eback, soloist with MiChelle Nybo, organist. The Nelson Funeral Home of Leeds is in charge of the arrangements.

Lorraine Zettler was born May 23, 1943 at Knox, ND, the daughter of George and Frances (Wentz) Eback.  She was raised near Oberon, ND and educated in a rural school and also in Minnewaukan, ND.  Lorraine then moved to Devils Lake.  She married John Zettler on June 9, 1962 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Devils Lake, where over the years she worked as cook at the Great Northern Café,  Mayer Hotel Café and Lunch Box Café.  The couple have lived in Devils Lake, Cando, Rolette, Fisher, MN, St. Michael, ND and in 1982, moved to Leeds, where she worked in daycare.  Lorraine was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Leeds.

Surviving are her husband, John; and  daughter:  Lorraine (William) Elston all of Leeds;   grandchildren:  Courtney, Austin & Abbigale Zettler,  Jessica (Andy) Zimmerman and David (Melinda) Elston;   great-grandchildren:  David,  Jr.   & Shaylei Elston;   brothers:  Bernhard (Theresia) Eback of Leeds and Arthur (Kathy) Eback of Tacoma, WA;  sisters:  Pauline (Ed) Zettler of Neenah, WI and Helen (Raymond) Nelson of Tacoma, WA;  brothers-in-law:  Michael (Judy) Zettler of Devils Lake and Bill (Mary Eva) Zettler of Denver, CO and a sister-in-law:  Mary Hoffart of Devils Lake.   She was preceded in death by her parents;  brothers:  Johnny (Julia),  George, Joe, Leo and Mike Eback and sisters:  Frances Kraft,  Theresa Kraft and Deloris Bingham.
