Lucille Randle, 87, of Minot, ND and formerly of York, ND passed away Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Trinity Homes in Minot, ND. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the Nelson Funeral Home Chapel in Leeds, ND. Visitation will begin two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren Cemetery in rural York, ND. Casket Bearers will be Jason Randle, Matthew Randle, Josh May, Levi Randle, Al Tschaekofske and James W. Gustafson.
Lucille Long was born October 1, 1930 to Lawrence E. and Agnes Elizabeth (Mashke) Long in Hurricane Lake Township. She was raised on a farm near York, ND and graduated from Leeds High School. She then worked in Rugby, ND as a Bell Telephone Operator. Lucille was united in marriage to Arlin Walter Randle on May 10, 1952 in York. They farmed in Pierce County from 1962-1986. Lucille and Arlin worked for the National Park Concessions in Olympic National Park, Washington and Big Bend National Park, Texas. Minot became Lucille's home when Arlin passed away June 22, 1989. She then worked for two summers at the Isle Royale National Park in Lake Superior, Michigan.
Lucille was an active member of the York American Legion Auxiliary, 4H Club, Home Makers Club and the Christian Woman's Club.
Lucille is survived by her children, Kevin Randle of Hazen, ND, Kirk (Janet) Randle of Leeds, ND, Carol (James W.) Gustafson of Minneapolis, MN, Caron (Don) May of Minot, ND and Colleen (Al) Tschaekofske of Minot, ND; 9 grandchildren; 1 step-grandchild; 10 great grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren; brother, Carl (Marlys) Long; sister, Lavon (Gilly) Berdahl; sister-in-law, Lauretta Long.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlin Walter Randle; infant son, Kurtis; parents, Lawrence E. and Agnes Elizabeth (Mashke) Long; brother, Glenn Long.
