Mark Wisness, 65, of Maddock, ND, passed away at the St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 due to a massive stroke caused by high blood pressure. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the Viking Lutheran Church in rural Maddock, ND with Pastor Allen Campbell officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mark Wisness was born March 7, 1951 at the Maddock Memorial Hospital to Alf and Muriel (Westby) Wisness. He grew up on the homestead south of Maddock and attended BCATS. Mark graduated Maddock Public School in 1969 and attended Lake Region Junior College for two years, where he earned an Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering. He moved to Southern California in 1971 where he worked for Air Industries of California for one year.

Mark was married and moved to Northern California with their three children: Jody, Jessica and Matt. He returned to Maddock in 1993 where he farmed for the next 20 years of his life. He met Patricia Hodgkinson in Nevada and the two were married on November 7, 2015 in Las Vegas, NV. Mark enjoyed collecting antique advertising, toys and bottles. He loved to gamble, watch NDSU and Vikings football games, BBQ'ing, and spending the winters with his daughter, Jody, in California.

Mark is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Jody (Jimmy) Dobbs of Lincoln, CA, Jessica Wisness-Canfield of Lincoln, CA and Matt Wisness of San Diego, CA;step-sons, Michael Hoolahan Jr. and Robert Hoolahan; grandchildren, Broc Dobbs, Donovan Dobbs, Hunter Dobbs, Kaele Blackwell, Tim Bevans, Isaiah Wisness- Garcia, Elijah Wisness-Garcia, Aundre Canfield, Aubrey Canfield, Nicolas Wisness and Kayla Terry; step-grandchild, Kaydance Hoolahan; great grandchildren, Rylee Vigarino and Cali Vigarino; siblings, Margaret (Dick) Bucklin of East Lansing, MI and Milton (Dorothy) Wisness of Maddock, ND; nieces, Mechelle Solberg of Maddock, ND and Rebecca Wisness – Warner of Maddock, ND; Brita Bucklin of Lansing, MI and Heather Rouse of Lansing, MI; nephew, Loren Bucklin of Lancaster, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alf and Muriel Wisness; uncle, Conrad (Bernice) Wisness, Harlan Westby, Orville Westby, Lloyd Westby and Ralph Westby; aunts, Grace Wisness, Ruth Wisness and Doris Tollefson.
