Connie Marlene Halvorson, 68, a farm wife from Leeds, North Dakota, died peacefully of natural causes at the Faulkton Health Center in Faulkton, South Dakota on Saturday, August 1, 2009.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, August 15th,  11:00 AM  at the Lebanon Free Lutheran Church in Leeds with Pastors Brenda Burns, Bernt I. Dahl and LeRoy Flickinger officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Music will be from Dorothy Stuberg.

Marlene was born January 28, 1941 in Conrad, Montana to Albert and Anna (Matheson) Myrvold.  She spent her childhood on the family farm east of Conrad.  She attended country school there until she entered high school at Dakota Lutheran Academy in Minot, North Dakota where she graduated.  After high school she became a nanny for a few years.  Later, she met Gerald Halvorson in Leeds, North Dakota.  They were married and lived and farmed near Leeds, North Dakota where they raised their two daughters.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  Marlene worked at children's day cares for a few years.  She had a deep love for babies and children. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and for always remembering her families birthdays.  She also loved spending time with her family at their mountain cabin in Montana.  Marlene volunteered many hours visiting the shut-ins at Nursing Homes.  She was a member of Lebanon Lutheran Church in Leeds, North Dakota.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Anna (Matheson) Myrvold.

Survivors include her husband Gerald in Leeds, ND and  her daughters Cynthia (Jerry) Martchinske, Faulkton, South Dakota and Connie (Paul) Hess, Paynesville, Minnesota.  Grandchildren include Jordan Rhodes (Kelli), Jackson Rhodes, Bailey Hess, Brandon Hess and one great-grandson Kamryn Rhodes.  Marlene's sisters are Vivian (Bernt) Dahl, Clifton, Texas and Bernice (Howard) Johnson, Conrad, Montana. There are  numerous nephews and nieces with some cousins in Norway.
