Mary M. Syverson, 84, of Devils Lake, ND and formerly of Esmond, ND passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Eventide Heartland Care Center in Devils Lake, ND.   Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, July 18, 2022 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Esmond with Leslie Rohde officiating.  Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Esmond.

Mary M. Syverson was born September 9, 1937 to Orris O. and Ann Margaret (Grady) Syverson in Esmond, ND.  She was raised on the family farmstead and educated in Esmond until 1967, when the family moved into town.  Mary graduated Esmond High School with the class of 1955.  In 1957, Mary began working at the Ramsey National Bank in Esmond and retired after 50 years of service in 2007.  Mary moved to the Maddock Memorial Home in 2018, then to the Eventide Heartland Care Center in Devils Lake in 2020, until her passing.

Mary was a lifelong, active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Esmond.  She spent many, many years as the Church Treasurer and also on the Trinity Lutheran WELCA committee. Mary loved all animals and had a special place in her heart for dogs and horses, but especially cared the most for cats.  She also enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens.  Mary was an absolute lover of baseball, and the LA Dodgers were her favorite.  She has pages and pages of newspaper clippings.  Mary kept scrapbooks of them and her beloved Esmond Eagles teams from her high school years.

Mary is survived by her nieces, Julie (Dwight) Bergeron and Karen Pallansch and family; sister-in-law, Susan Syverson; numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Orris and Anna Syverson; siblings, Ardella (Delton), Neil, Stanley (Ludwena) and Warren (Janice); special nephew, Mike Syverson.
