Maurice A. McKibbin, 88 of Maddock, ND and Peoria, AZ,  died Friday, January 4, 2013, at the Hospice of Arizona in Peoria, AZ.  Services and burial will be later in the spring at Maddock.

Maurice Alton McKibbin was born December 30, 1924 at rural South Haven, MN, the son of Ralph and Mabel (David) McKibbin.  He was educated at a one room school in Albert Township, rural Maddock through the 8th grade.  Maurice took a correspondence course for his freshman year and then graduated with honors in 1942 from the Benson County Agricultural and Training School at Maddock.  He worked for his father for several years. Maurice and Adeline Rangen were married June 5, 1949, at Immanuel Lutheran Church rural Maddock.  They resided on one of his father's farms until 1963, when they moved to Moorhead, MN were Maurice was a mechanic.  He later was employed by the American Family Insurance Company as an agent for eleven years and was one of their top ten producers. He also worked for area farmers.  They purchased a home in Silver Bay, MN in 1986 and lived there in the summers while wintering in Phoenix, AZ.  They later returned to Maddock where they spent the summer months.

Surviving are his wife:  Adeline of Maddock, ND and Peoria, AZ;  sons:  James of Seabrook, TX,   Dwight of  Houston, TX,   Craig (Stephanie) of Rena, NV and Kevin of Phoenix;  6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; a brother:  Richard (Elaine) McKibbin of Colorado Springs, CO.

Maurice was preceded in death by his parents;  sons:  Mark and an infant son, Brian; a grandson:  Chad McKibbin.
