Mildred 'Millie' Hazel Morkert, 95, of Leeds, ND passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the Towner County Living Center in Cando, ND. A Private Family Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Leeds Lutheran Cemetery: P.O. Box 76 Leeds, ND 58346.

Mildred was born November 25, 1925 to Joseph and Lena (Struxness) Morkert in Leeds. She was baptized January 3, 1926 at her parents' home. Millie graduated from Leeds High School on May 28, 1943. She worked as a rural school teacher, inspected creameries and many other jobs.

Millie was proud of her buying and selling properties at one point. She took care of her parents until their passing. Millie loved vegetable gardening (she said flowers were pretty but she couldn't eat them!) and canned many jars.

Millie is survived by her sister-in-law, Ann Morkert; nieces, Joann, Janet, Tamela, Catherine, Mira and Cindy; nephews, James, Steven and Curtis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lean Morkert; sisters, Irene Morkert, Hazel Morkert, Myrtle Stankiewiez, Gladys Dickey and Beatrice Eide; brothers, Alvin and Melvin Morkert; brother-in-laws, John Stankiewiez, Henry Dickey and Erling Eide; nephew, Raymond; great nephew, Brandon.
