Mitchell Cyrus 'Cy' Streifel, 61, of Esmond, ND passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023 at his home in Esmond, ND. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the Esmond Implement Shop in Esmond, ND.  Burial will be held at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in the spring.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family: 1501 11 ^th Avenue North Grand Forks, ND 58203.

Mitchell Cyrus Streifel was born February 15, 1962 to Henry and Delores (Heilman) Streifel.  He was raised and educated in Esmond, where Cy was active in Football and Track and Field.   He graduated from Esmond High School in 1980 as class Valedictorian.  Cy furthered his education, attending North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND, before returning to Esmond.  He began working as manager at his father's business, Yankee Tractors in Penn, ND.

Cy moved to Bismarck, ND where he managed Nelson International.  He gained much knowledge from working with his Father and also his love of International Scout's.  During his time at Nelson International he was famous for his knowledge of all things International and as we used to tease him, his love of trivia, no one else would bother to know!  He was united in marriage to Bea Symington on October 22, 1988. To this union, the couple welcomed a son, Luke.  Cy managed the Esmond Bar for the last six years, before retiring due to health reasons.

Cy enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He was a very social person and liked 'putzing around'.  He enjoyed spending time with friends and family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Cy is survived by his son, Luke of Bismarck, ND; siblings, Susan Kraft (Bob Alvestad) of Grand Forks, ND, Jola Streifel (Dawn Zimney) of Grand Forks, ND and Carrie (Mike) Smith of Burke, VA;  brother-in-law, Harlan Jensen of Grand Forks, ND; sister-in-law, Teri Steifel of Moorhead, MN; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Delores Streifel; siblings, Timothy Streifel, Barbra Jensen, Jeffrey Streifel and Idona Wolfe; brother-in-law, Tom Kraft; maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents.
