N. Stanley Olson, 90, of Minot, ND and formerly of Minnewaukan, ND passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the Minot Health and Rehab. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Nelson Funeral Home in Maddock, ND with Pastor Luther 'Lu' Mathison officiating. Visitation will begin two hours prior to the service. Burial will take place at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in rural Maddock, ND in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery: 5054 47th St. NE Maddock, ND 58348 or donor's choice.

Norman Stanley Olson was born on June 30, 1927 on a farm near Maddock to Lars and Emma (Togstad) Olson. He farmed near Maddock for many years until he moved to Minnewaukan, ND in 1988. Stanley resided in Minnewaukan until 2009 when he moved to Minot, ND to be closer to his family. In 2017, he moved to the Minot Health and Rehab facility and resided there until his death.

Stanley had never married but was the favorite uncle of his nieces and nephews. He was proud of his Norwegian heritage and was a farmer who never forgot the farming operations and enjoyed visiting the machinery lots.

Stanley is survived by his sister, Thelma Paulson of Minot, ND; sister-in-law, Jean Olson of Minot, ND and Mesa, AZ; two nieces; three nephews; special friend, Betty Rushfeldt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lars and Emma (Togstad) Olson; sisters, Esther Johnson and Ruby Olson; brothers, Oscar, Lloyd and two infant brothers.
