Orville D. Tostenson, 75, of Devils Lake and formerly of Leeds, ND, died Monday, January 10th, 2011 in Minot.   Memorial Services will be Friday, January 14th, 2010, 11:00 AM at the Nelson Funeral Home in Leeds with Pastor Robert Buechler officiating.  Burial with full military honors will be later in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery at Mandan.

Orville Duane Tostenson was born October 24th, 1935, at Leeds, ND, to Carl and Amelia (Christianson) Tostenson.  He was raised and educated in Leeds.  Orville worked in surveying prior to entering the US Air Force.  Orville served eight years with the Military Police in Alaska and South Dakota.   Following his discharge, he drove semi for US Steel and several other trucking companies.  Orville then worked at the Scott Paper Company in Everett, WA for twenty-eight years.   He married Karen Strand in Everett, WA on September 14, 1979.  After retiring in 1994, the couple resided in Port Townsend, WA.  They moved to Leeds in 1998 and to Devils Lake in 2009.

Orville enjoyed fishing, traveling to Washington and Alaska, and spending winters in Arizona.  He was a member of the Leeds American Legion Post #101, the Elks and Sons of Norway. Orville always took great pride in his various projects.

Surviving are his wife: Karen of Devils Lake;  three daughters:  Ranae Browning of North Pole, Alaska,  Debbie (Pastor Robert) Buechler of Starkweather and Theresa Owlboy of Grand Forks;  10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and  a brother:  Gordon (Shirley) Tostenson of Devils Lake.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson:  Benjamin Buechler.
