Phyllis J. Larson, 81, of Leeds, ND, died Friday, January 2, at Heartland Care Center in Devils Lake surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Mercy Hospice.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 6, 2008, 11:00 AM  at Leeds Lutheran Church in Leeds, ND.  Officiating will be Pastor Richard Budd with the Eulogy from her granddaughter, Rebecca Johnson.  Burial will be in Leeds Lutheran Cemetery later in the spring.  Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7pm at the Nelson Funeral Home in Leeds.  Casket bearers will be Phyllis's grandsons:  Blane Larson,  Brock Larson,  Gannon Larson,  David Larson and Michael Himle.

Phyllis Jean Larson was born August 18, 1927 at Mayville, ND, to James and Marie (Amundson) Martin.  Following the death of her father, the family moved to Devils Lake where she was raised and graduated from high school.  Phyllis married G. D. 'Bud' Larson on July 25, 1945 at Devils Lake.  The couple lived in Leeds and raised their family.

Phyllis was a member of Leeds Lutheran Church, its WELCA and sang in the choir.  She also sang with the Leeds Ladies Triple Trio for many years.  Phyllis enjoyed reading, playing cards, bowling and attending all of her grandchildren's basketball games and musicals.

Surviving are her husband:  Bud of Leeds;  sons:  Gary and Rick both of Leeds and a daughter:  Jean (Mrs. Rio) Himle of Leeds;  nine grandchildren;  twelve great-grandchildren and a brother:  Gordon Martin in California.   She was preceded in death by her parents;  brothers:  Bryce and James Martin;  sisters:  Agnes Orland,  Ruth Harrington and Adeline Foss.
