Obituary

Regina C. Goetz, 74, of Esmond, ND, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012  at the St. Aloisius Medical Center in Harvey, ND.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, January 5th, 2013,  10:30 AM  at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Esmond with Fr. Brian Bachmeier, celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday at the church from 4 to 6:30pm with a 6:30pm Rosary followed by a 7:00 PM Parish Vigil. Casket bearers will be:  Doug Goetz,  Greg Goetz,  Bill Mongeon,  Chuck Muscha,  Ryan Goetz and Spencer Muscha.  Music will be from the St. Boniface Choir with Helen Arnold, organist.

Regina Christine Heilman was born November 14, 1938 at Rugby, ND, to Sebastian and Lena (Haberlack) Heilman.  She was raised in the Silva, ND, area and graduated from the Balta High School in 1956.  Regina worked at Hershey Drug in Rugby until her marriage to Dennis Goetz on June 15, 1959 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Knox, ND.  The couple lived in Clarkston, WA for three years. They moved to Esmond in 1962 and operated Goetz's Fairway until it was destroyed by fire in 1982.  From 1987 until their retirement in 1999, they owned and operated the Esmond Locker Plant.  Following retirement, they painted a number of buildings in the area.

Regina was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and its Ladies Aid.  She enjoyed reading, gardening, flowers and fishing.

Surviving is her husband:  Dennis of Esmond;  sons:  Douglas (Lisa) Goetz of Champlin, MN &  Gregory (Dianne) Goetz of Cherokee, OK;  daughters:  Dawn (Chuck) Muscha of Killdeer, ND &  Gail (Bill) Mongeon of Rolette, ND;  10 grandchildren;  1 great-grandchild;  brothers:  Ed Heilman of Balta, ND and LeRoy Heilman of Wilton, ND;  sisters:  Mary Ann Haman of Carrington, ND and Irene Martin of Clarkston, WA; a number of nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents;  a sister:  Alvina; and brothers Joe and Larry.

My thoughts and prayers are with all you of at this difficult time. I have very fond memories of Regina, I feel like Jeff and I grew up with Dennis and Regina and all the cousins. Dear Goetz Family, I was so sorry to hear about Regina's passing. She was such an elegant lady. I have fond memories of her growing up when you had the grocery store. She always had a kind word. I'm sorry for your loss. Denise Arnold
