Graveside Service for Robert and Darlene Everson will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, June 11, 2021 at Greenwood Cemetery in rural Maddock, ND with Pastor Kristen Schwan officiating.
Robert G. "Bob" Everson, 81, of Cedar Rapids, IA passed away Thursday September 5, 2019, at Mercy Hallmar in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness. His wishes were to be cremated without a funeral service or visitation.
Bob was born June 25 th , 1938 in Devils Lake, ND, the son of Alfred Everson and Ruth Everson. Bob was united in marriage to Darlene Shaffer. They had one son Alan.
Bob enjoyed working with leather and his work at Quaker Oats in Cedar Rapids, IA where he retired after over 40 years of service.
He is survived by his son, Alan (Stephanie) of Von Ormy, TX; sisters, Norine Myhre of Shelton, CT and Constance J Schall of Mesa, AZ; granddaughter, Linda Everson; 3 great grandchildren all of Cedar Rapids, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Ruth; siblings, Marvin Everson, Joe Everson, Gladys Butler, Darlene Christofferson, Shirley Sperley, and LaVonne Tabor.
Darlene J. Everson, 83, of Cedar Rapids passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Mercy Hallmar in Cedar Rapids.
Darlene was born May 31, 1937 in Maddock, North Dakota, the daughter of John and Jean Shaffer. She had a passion for horses and horseback riding her entire life. Darlene loved and cherished her many dogs throughout the years. She was actively involved in sporting events and activities for her son, and later for her granddaughter.
Darlene will forever be remembered as a loving and caring mother, big sister and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Darlene is survived by her son, Alan (Stephanie) Everson; sisters, Bonita (James) Schulz, Judy (Larry) Wright, Shelley (Martin) Gustafson and Brenda (Mark) Rogestad; brother, Neil (Barb) Shaffer; granddaughter, Linda Everson; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" and her parents.
