Ronald D. Jorgenson, 82, of Minnetonka, MN and formerly of Leeds, ND passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021 at his home under the care of his family and hospice. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Leeds with Fr. Daniel Musgrave celebrating. Visitation will take place Monday, July 19, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 PM with Rosary and Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 PM at the church. Burial will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Ron's grandchildren: Ryan Jorgenson, Ronnie Jorgenson, Rick Jorgenson, Jeremy Jorgenson, Danielle Jorgenson and Lucas Jorgenson. Ron passed away with the same grace and dignity he lived his life never complaining, always willing to spend time with family and most of all, being close to his wife Vivian who he loved more than anything in the world.

Ron grew up in Leeds ND on the family farm where he developed his core values that carried him successfully through life. His parents, brothers and sister meant everything to him. After marrying his High School sweetheart, Vivian Burkhardsmeier on October 9, 1956, Ron went on to receive his engineering degree from North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND.

Ron began his career at Anoka Electric and from there ran regional electrical engineering firms in Rapid City, SD for Schmidt Smith and Rush and in Aberdeen, S.D. for Finely Engineering while raising their three sons (Ron, Randy and Rob). Ron was loved by everyone he worked with and built successful consulting businesses through hard work, determination, and always putting other people first. He and Vivian moved back to Rapid City in 1981 to be closer to their friends while he continued his professional career until retirement in 2009. They moved back to Minnesota in 2016.

In their later years, Ron and Vivian enjoyed traveling throughout Europe, especially exploring his Norwegian heritage and the special relationship they developed with the people of Apolda, Germany. They spent their winters in Arizona golfing, playing cards, developing new friendships, and spending as much time as possible with their family.

Words cannot accurately describe Ron because to know him was to love him. He was an unassuming man, a true gentleman, who never relished in his accomplishments. Rather, he showed faithfulness, kindness, caring, and love to everyone around him. He led by example with faith, family, and friendships valued the most in his life and in that order. He loved to go to the movies, play cards, golf, watch his grandchildren play sports, family time, and the dear friendships that he developed over the years. He was fun loving and had a contagious smile and smirk that spoke volumes. He was the perfect example of unconditional love.

Ron is survived by his wife of 64 years, Vivian; sons, Ron Jorgenson of Denver, CO, Randy (Julie) Jorgenson of Milton, FL and Robert (Geri) Jorgenson of Medina, MN; 6 grandchildren, Ryan Jorgenson, Ronnie Jorgenson, Rick Jorgenson, Jeremy Jorgenson, Danielle Jorgenson and Lucas Jorgenson; great-granddaughter, Sydney.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and granddaughter, Julie Jorgenson.
