Ronald Anton “Ronnie” Brossart, 71, of Leeds, ND, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, July 3, 2026. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Leeds, ND with Father Musgrave celebrating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Private Family Burial will be held at the Little Flower Catholic Cemetery in Rugby, ND. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Leeds Ambulance or Leeds Fire Department: P.O. Box 361 Leeds, ND 58346. In true Ronnie fashion, this will likely be the only service he ever arrived on time for. As he often joked, "The only thing I'll ever be on time for is my funeral."

Ronnie was born on June 15, 1955, in Rugby, ND to August and Elizabeth (Voeller) Brossart. He was raised and attended school in Rugby, ND before the family moved to Leeds, where he graduated from in 1973. After graduation, he did what he loved most—he went to work on the family farm, beginning a lifetime dedicated to the land, the cattle, and the values that came with both. On October 7, 1977, he was united in marriage to Rita Kaye Schmaltz in Rugby, ND. The couple lived on the Brossart family farm for most of their married lives, where they raised their five children; Mandy, Matthew, Luke, Callie, and Abbie. He was known for his work ethic and commitment to his farming operation, never backing down to a challenge. He was also especially proud of his five children, making sure that he instilled the same work ethic he had into them, whether they appreciated it or not. He knew the world was tough and with those lessons, he was preparing them for any hardship they would face in the future. Looking back now, he was right.

Ronnie was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Church in Leeds, ND and deeply valued his strong faith and relationship he built with Father Daniel Musgrave. Farming and raising cattle were Ronnie’s passions in life, but he also liked to make time to visit with family and friends. He will be remembered for his strong family legacy he built together with his wife and children. He was a cherished family man who will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Rita of Leeds, ND; their children; Mandy (Levi) Serfoss of Jamestown, ND, Luke Brossart of Leeds, ND, Callie (Nick) Parslow, Leeds, ND, and Abbie (Brad) Hermanson, Maddock, ND; twin brother, Randy (Cindy) of Rugby, ND; three sisters, Lynda (Scott) Humble of Cavalier, ND, Debbie (Allan) Hoffart of Rugby, ND, and Brenda Brossart of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren James, Wesley, Wyatt, Gavin, Porter, Hudson, Ari, Rhett, Averi, Gunner, Isla, Ava, and another due at the end of this month; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew; parents, August and Elizabeth; brother, Brian Brossart; stepfather, Lynn Carlson; father-in-law, Clem Schmaltz; and sister-in-law, Carol Shively.
